A bad day is the whole test

Heroes are easy to tell apart when something enormous is happening. They are much more interesting on a slow, irritating weekday. This Marvel character test is a short personality quiz that matches you with one of six heroes by looking at small stakes: a deadline you are behind on, a family gathering, a neighbor who wants a favor on your only free day. How you handle those says more about you than any imaginary superpower would.

Six heroes with the suits off

Take away the powers and the costumes, and what is left is six very different ways of coping. Iron Man can't leave a problem alone and comments on it the whole time. Captain America does the right thing steadily, including when it is unpopular. Thor is big-hearted and loud, and fully expects the day to go his way. Black Widow notices everything and gives away very little. Spider-Man is the eager helper who has agreed to too much and is joking through it. Hulk is the gentle thinker who holds things in for longer than is good for him.

Each result page describes what that hero is good at, where they tend to trip, and which of the other five they work best with.

What you need before you start

Very little. The quiz is 12 questions long and takes about two minutes. It is free, it runs in your browser, and there is no sign-up or account. You don't need to have seen the films or read the comics, because no question mentions them or names a hero. It is also spoiler-free: the result pages talk about personality and leave the plots alone.

Reading your result as a team

Results get more useful once a few people you know have theirs. A group with no Spider-Man should ask who has been doing all the favors.

Questions about the Marvel Character Test

Is this the official Marvel character test?

No. This is an unofficial, fan-made quiz. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Marvel, The Walt Disney Company, or Sony Pictures.

How many questions are in the Marvel character test?

Twelve. Most people finish in about two minutes. You can go back and change earlier answers before you submit the last one.

Which Marvel heroes can I get?

There are six results. You can get Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Spider-Man, or Hulk.

How is my result calculated?

Each answer gives points to one or two heroes. When you finish, the hero with the most points is your result. If two heroes tie, your most recent answers break the tie.

Do I need to have seen the movies?

No. The questions are about everyday life and never mention the films or comics. The result pages describe each hero's personality and avoid plot spoilers.

Do you save my answers?

No. Your answers stay in your browser while you take the test and are never sent to a server. We don't ask for your name, email, or age.
